Hello! I am Kate Ashton and I am an Integrative Life Coach through the accredited Institute of Integrative Life Coaching!
I have been working towards becoming a coach all of my life. Did I know this the whole time? No, but every step I took got me closer to the day I had the opportunity to take the training and I am so grateful.
I have always seen myself as a helper, someone who wanted to help others succeed and reach their potential. Despite this, I entered college not knowing exactly what I wanted to be. I was good at creating art so I went to art school but I was never satisfied with being an artist, I felt pulled away from my true purpose.
While still in my art degree I explored social work, family and community services, marriage and family therapy and counseling. None of them was the right fit so I finished my art degree and graduated. Still feeling unfulfilled I needed a job so I started working for my local university where I remained but increased my job skills and knowledge for 12 years.
During this time, my husband graduated and was hired to work across the US in New Mexico. I was ready for the adventure, but unsure of what career I would hold. The jobs I had held in our previous town paid much higher rates and going back to do the same jobs just wasn’t interesting to me so I decided to brainstorm ideas. I created a short-lived organic snack subscription box, I also created a blog around sharing the truth about what is found in beauty and cosmetic products. I learned a lot about business during those endeavors and even more about myself. They weren’t right for me. I wanted to work with people directly.
A friend of mine was telling me about her contracting work that she had been doing for years and it sounded appealing as all of the tasks were things I had done previously or could pick up easily. I decided that I wanted to work with people or businesses that helped improve the lives of others, the earth or the animals. I ended up narrowing my niche even further to work with life coaches as I thought this might be something I could do in the future.
The more I worked with coaches, the more I knew this was going to be my career one-day. I still had a lack of abundance mindset and didn’t think I was ready for it. Then Covid happened and I lost almost all of my coaching clients and my income. I had more time on my hands though and had a great opportunity to explore the option of becoming a coach and so I am now on this journey!
I absolutely love coaching and found that it is a great fit for me! Why do I love it?
- I love helping people, so being able to ask questions that open people to new perspectives and understanding about themselves that results in growth and more potential is so exciting to me.
- Because seeing people shift in knowing who they can be is an amazing thing to see and be a part of.
- My passion is to help people succeed at their desires and become the person they know they can be.
- I love being able to see our starting points and see how my clients have progressed through our journey together.
I am an Integrative Life Coach through the accredited Institute of Integrative Life Coaching!
What does this mean?
- This means that I have had 102 hours of coach training from an accredited institute (equivalent to a Masters degree)
- I am working towards my ACC credential
- I am being mentored by a group of coaches from the institute
What does this mean for you?
This means that I am receiving some of the best coach training that exists today because it is from an accredited coaching institute. There are many “coaches” now-a-days but many of them are not properly credentialed or working towards a credential. It is very important that you find out who has received training from an accredited coaching institute and that their mission aligns with your coaching needs your values and your desire to be coached.
Please feel free to reach out to me for your complimentary coaching session where we will learn more about each other, how I coach, see if we are a good fit and you will experience a shortened coaching session.
